In the past 10 years, Shenzhen has created thousands of self-made apparel brands such as “Jiyi,” “City of the City,” and “Ladies' House.” This has not only completely changed the past Shenzhen people. The habit of buying clothes in foreign countries also makes Shenzhen a popular place for apparel purchases by domestic and foreign merchants. The products are exported to more than 190 countries and regions.

From the 1980s to the early 1990s, it was difficult for the local market to produce garments in the Shenzhen market, not to mention the brand. Although there were many garment factories, most of them were processed according to orders and all were exported.

Since the mid-1990s, the garment industry in Shenzhen has suddenly risen, and companies have been making unremitting efforts to create a brand. A new clothing company has been registered and established. A new clothing brand has been born, one after another at Baguaol, Shekou, Chegongmiao, and Longhua. Such as the formation of a garment industry gathering place.

Since 2000, Shenzhen has formed the largest women's brand production base in China and has more than 1,000 women's brands. The current new cycle of Shenzhen women's clothing has been shortened to two weeks. Women's innovative design ability is far ahead of the country. Shenzhen has become the capital of women's wear in China.

According to the results of the sample survey conducted by the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association in 2005, more than 75% of Shenzhen garment companies use 5% to 15% of their sales as R&D expenses, while 69.2% of R&D funds are used for the development of new products. Independent innovation has brought about a fundamental shift in corporate products and market structure, and Shenzhen’s apparel market share has increased significantly. According to statistics from the Shenzhen Garment Association, the garment industry in Shenzhen, where women's clothing design and manufacturing has gathered strengths, has achieved a domestic market share of more than 60%.
